My yesterday.

Thought that I may give you all an update from my perspective. I just got back from being with Mom and Dad from Wed - Thurs. They had Denny K. for the evening Wed till Thursday, and then 5 workers for lunch on Thursday. Wednesday evening, Dad and Denny made a great meal of fish, potatoes, and the trimmings. Mom did well, but with a little confusion. That evening, bible study was at the house. Mom was still a little confused at the start of meeting, so her and I listened to the meeting from her room. The baby monitors work wonderful. After meeting, when all had left, Ian insisted on seeing Grandma. When Ian and I went into her room, she was delighted to see him, smiled from ear to ear, and eventually wanted to get up to have some of Steph's peanut butter pie. She was up for quite some time after meeting, enjoying the kids, pie, and being together. As Steph and Ron left from the driveway, Mom sat on the kitchen table, blowing kisses to the kids and smiling from ear to ear.

Thursday morning started out well. We all enjoyed a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Denny had made oatmeal, and mom said that she would not fight him for his share, she was just delighted with Cheerios. Soon she was back to bed for a rest. The next time she got up, I was looking through cookbooks for yummy recipes. She promptly told me that she was hungry for something. She said it was hard to make, and I think she was questioning my cooking abilities. "I could eat some pan fried mush" was her request. As I continued to then look for the recipe for "MUSH", Aunt Flo called to check in. I happened to mention to her that mom was hungry for pan fried mush. She said if I did not find the recipe, that I was to call her back. Within 5 minutes, she called me back. "The mush is on it's way to your house" came from Aunt Flo. She had called Aunt Ida, who was baking pies for the day. Aunt Ida said that she would be happy to whip up a batch of mush, and get it to mom and dad. I can't think of a better cook. It should taste like Grandma Lila's. The rest of the day was wonderful but confusing. The workers came around 11:30 just as mom had gotten up from a nap. She did well visiting, and being together. Right before we were to eat lunch, she retired for a rest. Her and dad decided that she would rest and then get up for dessert. She spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying short times together with all of us and then retire to her room for a rest. It was a very big day and she and dad did very well. At one point she came from her room to see all of the food that Dad and I had prepared, and plainly announced "And just WHO is going to eat all of this food!!!" I think she was a little worried that we were going to increase her diet. All in all, it was a lovely day. Mom and Dad both enjoyed having all of the workers, and being together.

I came home to a house full of children. Mark did great, and the children had fun helping daddy with the patio. ( Projected Completion date April 2010)

Now I am wondering if that Mush ever arrived. I am thinking that Mom and Dad will have visitors again today, and then maybe again tomorrow. I want to hear some updates.

From mother and I, we want to thank you and Mark for helping us with these days.. We both enjoyed the visits with the workers, and although a bit exhausted by evening, we both slept very well overnight.
The mush arrived at around 7PM last evening.. Sally was sleeping, but when she awoke I informed her of the arrival... This morning when she awoke she was hungary, but said that she couldn't wait for the mush... Cheerios was in order...then to bed for a rest.
Flo came for a visit at 10AM, and Sally was at her finest.. Joking and looking for a cone of ice cream from Masseys!!! She may even be up for a brief trip over the mountain for that cone!!! Every day is different, but we do appreciate the ever present help of all...
The remainder of the day will be quiet.. We look forward to a visit from Jennifer Grady and Audrey Fuller tomorrow morning..
